Instances (@instance)

An instance is a private copy of the map you are standing on, just for you or your party - no other players, no elite bosses. Pick a tier and the map starts burning: every tier above Normal boosts your EXP. Type @instance on any map with monsters to open it, and @leaveinstance to leave.

Tiers

You see every tier your level has unlocked and can pick any of them.

All values are at a 100% map bonus - see below.

Map Bonus (Burning %)

  • Every map has its own map bonus, starting at 100%. The tier boost is multiplied by it: at 60%, a ×2 tier gives 60% of its boost.
  • While you farm a map in an instance, its bonus drops 1% per minute (100% → 0% in 100 minutes). An empty map recovers 1% per minute, and every map resets to 100% at 00:00 server time.
  • @burning inside a burning instance refreshes the map bonus to 100% for 5 Donation Points.
  • A Firestarter Ring keeps you locked at 100% without paying, and raises your EXP bonus cap to 110,000% inside a burning instance.
  • The @instance window shows the current map bonus and the time until the next reset.

How the boost works

Normal maps

The tier is added to your personal EXP bonus, stacking additively with the Ring, Totem and DP buff. Example: a ×2 tier at a 100% map bonus adds +100% of your base EXP bonus.

Your total EXP bonus is still limited by the bonus cap (99,999%, or 125,000% with the DP buff) - once you are capped, this part adds nothing.

End of the World maps (Lv. 10,000+ tiers)

On the End of the World (Limina) farming maps, the tiers from Burr-ning up work differently: the monsters get the boost. Every monster spawns with more base EXP - counted before your EXP bonus, so it is not limited by the bonus cap. This Monster EXP Amplifier grows with every tier (▲ in the table above). Within a tier it also grows with your Total Level, up to the strength of the next tier (the top tier stays fixed), so the boost keeps pace as you level. In a party it follows the Total Level of the first player who entered the map.

The monsters also have more HP. End-game leveling is meant to stay a long road - pick the highest tier you have unlocked for the best boost. A tier stops growing once you reach the level of the next tier, so switch up as soon as it unlocks.

Type @bonus inside the instance to see the current boost.

Cernium & Burning Cernium (Lv. 11,250+)

The step up after End of the World. Its monsters get the same Monster EXP Amplifier in the Lv. 10,000+ tiers, and they give more base EXP than End of the World to begin with. Find the maps under @training > Cernium.

AreaMonster levelEXP & equipment from Total Level
Cernium & Royal Library12,50011,250+
Western & Eastern Ramparts in Battle20,00018,000+
Burning Royal Library30,00027,000+

Below that Total Level the monsters give no EXP at all - not to you, and not to anyone in your party - and drop no equipment. You also cannot loot equipment on these maps below that level (not even from kills by party members). Mesos and other drops still work as normal. Drops are the same as End of the World, but equipment dropped by stronger monsters rolls higher stats.

Good to know

  • Solo or party: you get a private party automatically, so you can start one alone.
  • The map needs its own monster spawns - towns and empty maps cannot be instanced.
  • You cannot open an instance while you are in another event.
  • Type @bonus inside an instance to see exactly what the tier is adding right now.
