Dice Board

The Dice Board is a 36-square board game. Every roll of a [Dice Master] Game Die moves your pawn 1 to 6 squares forward, and you win whatever prize is on the square you land on. Your pawn keeps going round and round the board, and its position is saved on your character between rolls.

The Dice Board

How to play

  1. Open the board with @diceboard, or through @vpshop (the Special Shop NPC in the Free Market) > Dice Board > Open the Dice Board.
  2. Press ROLL. One Game Die is used from your inventory, the die rolls, and your pawn moves that many squares.
  3. The prize on the square you land on goes straight into your inventory.

A few things to know:

  • The Game Dice must be in your ETC inventory - dice stored in your @etc overflow don't count.
  • Before each roll, every prize on the board must fit in your inventory (USE, ETC and CASH tabs). If they don't, the roll is refused and no die is used.
  • Landing on the Donation Point jackpot is announced to the whole server.

Getting Game Dice

Your 1st, 5th and 10th vote of the day each give you 1 Game Die (up to 3 per day) - see Vote. Dice from votes are stored on your account, so you can claim them on any character with @claimdice, or through @vpshop > Dice Board > Claim my stored Game Dice.

Prizes and odds

The rarer a prize, the fewer squares it has on the board. Over many rolls every square gets landed on equally often, so each square is worth a 1 in 36 chance per roll on average. The odds below are those long-run averages; your very next roll can only reach the 6 squares ahead of you.

PrizeAmountRaritySquaresOdds per roll
Donation Point 1 Legendary (5/5) 1 / 36 2.8%
Gold Box 1 Epic (4/5) 1 / 36 2.8%

On average that is about 1 Donation Point per 36 dice, and 1 of each Epic prize per 36 dice. The Donation Point is on 1 square, halfway round from the start. Silver and Gold Boxes need their matching key and are opened with @box - see Boxes.
