HempMS runs in Europe. Playing from Asia or Oceania usually means a high and unstable ping, because your connection has to travel all the way there over the regular internet. To help with that, HempMS has an Asia Server in Singapore.
The Asia Server is a relay, not a separate game world. Your game connection goes to Singapore first, which is close to you, and from there it travels to the game server in Europe over a fast, direct data-center route instead of your home internet.
Every time you log in, the server checks which country you are connecting from. If you play from Asia (e.g. Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Japan, Korea) or Australia / New Zealand, the Asia Server is switched on for you. Players from anywhere else connect directly, because for them the relay would only make the ping higher.
Not happy with the automatic choice? You decide. Your choice is saved and the automatic check never changes it again.
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
| @asiaroute | Shows your current setting and whether this session goes through the Asia Server |
| @asiaroute on | Always play through the Asia Server |
| @asiaroute off | Always connect directly to Europe |
| @asiaroute auto | Let the server decide again, based on where you log in from |
A change takes effect from your next login, so relog after using the command.
For most players the automatic choice is right. Whether the relay helps you depends on how your internet provider reaches Europe: if your ping is high or jumps around, try @asiaroute on for a while, and compare it with @asiaroute off. Keep whichever feels smoother.
